Private Jet charter to Saint Barths
Saint Barthélemy Airport is a challenging operation! It is one of the airports that requires a good preparation prior departure to ensure a success.
We recently had the opportunity to take a family on their vacation to St Barth , in the Caribbean, on board of a GlobalExpress. We tell you how it works to reach Saint Barthélemy.
Where is Saint Barthelemy Airport located?
Saint-jean-GustaveGustave III Airport (now Rémy de Haenen) is located on the small island of Saint Barthélemy.
It has a very small runway, 650 meters, which does not allow to operate with an aircraft of more than 5 tons. The runway is limited by the sea and the mountain and landing there requires a special training.
How can you reach Saint Barthelemy on a private Jet?
St Barth has an airport that does not allow operations with an Ultra long Range Jet, therefore, if you fly from a distant destination (such as Europe), you have to land first on the island of St Maarten whose airport (on the Dutch side) accepts up to a Boeing 747.
There are alternative transports from Saint Maarten to reach Saint Barth.
There are two types of transports:
- By air: flying with small turboprops like Twinn Otter DH, Cessna The transfer takes around 15 min.
- By Sea: by ground transportation to Simpson Bay Harbor and then take a speedboat. The transfer time takes between 30 min and one hour depending on where the boat is located.
Our staff will make sure everything is ready upon the arrival of your private flight to Saint Maarten. We recommend air transfer option as the sea condition is very uncertain and may affect your transfer.
There are several companies that offer this type of transfer. Our experts will be able to advise you to find the best option depending on the number of passengers, departure time and your logistics needs. We always advise to book ahead as, during the high season, everything is usually full.
